Steve's interest in waterfowl started at an early age while hunting the famous Illinois River bottoms with his father. His duck calling ability was acquired by years of practice and listening to wild ducks. The payoff of all this has earned Steve several trips to the World Championship Duck Calling Contest in Stuttgart, Arkansas with a finish as high as 5th runner up in 1998 using his own Fowl Language duck calls.
