aka Dr. Duck
St. Louis, MOFor the last couple of years, I've been hearing from call makers that I respect, that a guy named Steve Elmore made a good call. So, when I got the opportunity and saw the price....I bought one.
I collect calls, and I also make calls on a limited basis. I take calls apart and study them. I examine how they are made, quality of materials, fit, and finish of the parts. I look to see that the tooling marks aren't on the tone board and that the barrels are polished and have no flaws. I look for the signs that seperate a dashed off production call, to a call that reflects everything a custom call should be. After giving the Fowl Language a thorough going over, I can tell you the Fowl Language is a well made, first rate call.
There are other areas a call such as the Fowl Language is rated on....
Can it get on top and do a ringing high ball? Yes!
Can it get down, dirty, and ducky on the low end? Yes!
Does it have the design flexability to respond to a demanding comeback sequence? Yes!
Does it have the softness to finesse hard to convince late season mallards? Yes!The Fowl Language call does all of the above, and looks good on a lanyard!
If a duck hunter asked me if there was a great sounding call, good looking acrylic call that won't break the bank in terms of cost without sacrificing quality....I would suggest he get a Fowl Language.
Price, performance, and good looks!! That is a tough combination to beat!

ArkansasWaterfowler.comMost Arkansas duck hunters are very particular about the duck call hanging on their lanyard!
I used a Fowl Language call during the 2000-2001 season, and I am convinced that Steve makes the most affordable, ducky sounding, acrylic call on the market!
The call works great in the timber or rice fields!
There is a lot of "duck" in a Fowl Language call!
And there are a few "less" ducks because of of them! (wink)

Batavia, ILThe Fowl Language acrylic call is one of the very best I have used. Great sound for either field or water hunting. Soft to loud for close in or far away work. They are more like a musical instument (great variability) than just a "duck call".

Louisville, KYJust when I thought there wasn't a competition call out there that I could like, I finally found what I was looking for! I have been through every brand and type of duck call there is and didnt like them nearly as much as the Fowl Language.
I am really starting to get into competition calling and you have to have a loud, fast call call with a good low end.
Well, then came Steve's call. I told Steve all the different problems I had with the other calls I owned. Steve listened and designed a custom tournament call that is loud, has a good low end, and is easy to control.
